Jeanie Sapp
Get
to know the Executive Director of Carbon County's United Way,
Jeanie Sapp was born, raised and attended schools in
Rawlins, Wyoming the daughter of William and the late Margaret L. (Sandoval)
Gonzales. Upon her graduation from
high school, she attended the University of Wyoming while majoring in business
administration. There she meet her
future husband, they married and raised six children. They lived in Wyoming and Colorado.
While in Colorado, Jeanie attended the Aims Community
College to further her education but also attended Hairitage School of Beauty.
While attending beauty school, she worked in sales at Sears.
Later she had an opportunity to work for METLIFE Insurance Company as a
Sales Representative. She received
many awards as being top salesperson in the company’s territory to include
Colorado, Utah and Wyoming.
Jeanie later moved back to Rawlins and worked as a
Life/Health Insurance Agent. Her
career for United Way started in 2001 while still maintaining her insurance
business. Her first year as
director was a milestone since she was instrumental in exceeding the $100,000.00
goal that was set.
As the executive director, she is responsible for providing
an effective organization and to assist in the on-going development of United
Way of Carbon County as a leader in the non-profit community.
With assistance from the board and the agencies, she is to help develop
and improve community understanding, awareness and support of United Way of
Carbon County’s objectives. Currently, there are 16 agencies under Carbon
County’s United Way umbrella.
